Embracing God’s glory through beautifully diverse people

Encontrando la gloria de Dios a través de la diversidad del pueblo

What is Mestizo?

Naming our church community “Mestizo” is very intentional.

This Spanish word is most generally translated as “mixed” and historically referred to people having a mixture of European and Indigenous blood. Now — with an open invitation to all of us finding ourselves in a new humanity — many scholars, poets, and pastors realize that mestizo is who we have always been: A beautiful, complicated mixture of culture and “otherness.”

Here at Mestizo, there is a seat at the table and a place for the voices of those who often go unheard and unseen.
